What I believe:
- God: I believe in God as creator and sustainer of the universe. God so loved his creation that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to save the world. God is all good, all knowing, all present, and all-powerful. God is Holy, just and fair.
- Jesus is the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary, God incarnate, all God and all human. Jesus never sinned. He was crucified and died as a penalty for our sins, and was bodily resurrected from the dead on the 3rd day. Jesus is alive today. He ascended to the Father’s right hand, where he is the head of the church and from where he is coming again to personally claim his bride, the church.
- Holy Spirit: I believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, dwells within all believers. I believe in the Holy Trinity: God the father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
- Heaven: There is a heaven, and all who belong to Jesus will go there after this life. In heaven there is no more sickness, sorrow, crying, pain or death. It will be glorious.
- Salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone. There is only one God. Jesus is the only way to heaven. To be saved from your sins you must accept God’s free gift of salvation. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23. To be saved you must confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that Christ was raised from the dead. – Romans 10:9-10. To be your Lord means, you choose to obey him to the best of your knowledge and ability, instead of living your own way. Jesus bridges the gap between sinful man, and Holy God. No one can earn Salvation through good works. The good works we do are because love lives in us and we want to do good, not an effort to earn salvation.
- Baptism: I believe in water baptism as well as regular celebration of communion, prayer, and anointing with oil for physical, mental, and spiritual needs.
- The Bible: I believe in the Bible as the inspired Word of God and in its divine authority.
